About me

My name is Danielle and I am a counsellor working near Rickmansworth. I am a member of National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and abide by their code of ethics to ensure I am providing you with the best service I can.

The type of therapy I provide is integrative, basically this means I can draw on a number of different theoretical perspectives to best meet your need. I am also trained in cognitive behavioural therapy which can be useful when working with anxiety and depression.

I can provide you with a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space where you can talk freely about whatever is on your mind. There is no expectation about what you need to bring into the session and I can gently guide you through the process to ensure your goals are met.

Please read on to find out more about how we will work together.

How will we work together?

Once you’ve decided that you would like to work together we will start to look at what has brought you to counselling, this will help me to better understand your concerns and goals.

Whatever has led you to the session please know that you will be met with compassion and genuine empathy.

Starting therapy can be daunting and it is important that you feel safe to share, that may mean we start our work together slowly; your therapy, your pace. As our relationship builds I will aim to gently bring your awareness to how you connect to others and the world around you, seeing if we can identify any patterns. We can look together at your current coping strategies and if these are still working for you.

Your therapeutic journey will be as unique as you are and for that reason I work in a variety of ways. I enjoy being creative and we can use different resources to support your healing journey. Whatever form your sessions take I will be there to help you navigate them so you can get to know yourself and your needs better.
